​ECUSD7 Elementary Orchestra

Hi!  My name is Philip Sgambelluri.  I began teaching in the Edwardsville School District in 2020.  I graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education.

I have been playing music since I was in 2nd grade when I started taking piano lessons.  Bass eventually became my primary instrument but I am comfortable teaching all of the stringed instruments that play in the orchestra.

When I am not teaching, I can usually be seen (or heard) performing!  I play both electric and double basses which allows me to perform with a wide variety of ensembles from orchestras, to bluegrass groups, to theatre pits, to rock bands.

My goal is to give my students the knowledge and skills needed to become independent musicians, allowing them to continue making music outside of school, wherever they go in life.
